The Oven

Ok I wanted to talk to you about the Oven, cooking temperatures and cooking times.

Firstly I would highly recommend you finding out how your Oven bakes and at what temperature vs time frame it performs. In any Oven there are hot and cold spots. Also the seals on the Oven door can make a difference in your baking temperatures. It can also depend on make and model, and differences between fan bake and conventional bake. Fan baking can dry out Cupcakes, and by most recipes I turn my oven down by 10 degrees because of this.

In all my recipes my Oven temperature is quite low and my cooking times are very quick, that is because that's how my oven heats up. And that is how best my oven bakes my Cupcakes.

So how did I go about finding out about my Oven and the best temperatures for my Cupcakes.

Well firstly I took some time and made a batch of cupcakes that had no where to be. For the reason, that if I  under cooked or burnt them it wouldn't matter. So the investigation process started.
Secondly I turned my oven on very low and just watched how long it took and at what temperature. This is how I came to putting the cooking times and temperatures on my version of the recipes.

So please take the time to "Get to know your Oven" and you will have perfectly cooked Cupcakes every time.
